- There are roughly 180 school days per year.
If each student in the United States donated 1 penny a day, that's only $1.80 per school year - an amount that's unlikely to be a financial burden on anyone. However, accounting for the 50 million students, this adds up to a massive 100 million dollars/year that can be used to provide food for struggling families.
